TIDBITS OF INTEREST (written before the tourney began):
- This tournament is played in Rockwall, Texas, just outside of Dallas.
- Looks like we might be dealing with some weather issues, again. Bummer. (See the Rockwall Daily Forecast on AccuWeather.)
- In Men's Pro Singles (Thursday), there's a large field of 34 competitors, and that doesn't include Ben Johns. (According to his podcast, he has a college exam on Thursday that must be taken on Thursday. So no singles for Ben this tourney.) Likely favorites include Tyson McGuffin (congrats on the new baby!), Jay Devilliers, Jw Johnson, Zane Navratil, Dekel Bar, AJ Koller, Frank Anthony Davis, Dylan Frazier, and John Cincola.
- In Women's Pro Singles (also Thursday), the field has 10 contestants. Likely favorites include Anna Leigh Waters, Catherine Parenteau, Callie Smith, Lea Jansen, and Irina Tereschenko.
- In Mixed Pro Doubles (Friday), we have 27 teams in the field.
