TIDBITS OF INTEREST (written before the tournament began):
- Altitude!!! How will pros adjust to the thin air? Will the ball fly further?
- In mixed doubles (Saturday), will we see another Ben & Simone vs. Matt & Lucy gold medal match? (To turn a phrase "No one beats Ben & Simone twice"...or do they?) There are also some pairings who could challenge the top 2 seeds: Catherine Parenteau & Riley Newman, Irina Tereschenko & Pat Smith, Lea Jansen & Jay Devilliers, Tyson McGuffin & Callie Smith, Jessie Irvine & Tyler Loong, Adam Stone & Corrine Carr...Mixed Dubs on Saturday will be FUN to watch!
- In Men's Doubles (Sunday), Ben & Collin Johns will be teaming back up again on Sunday. Will it be another show of dominance from the brothers? Or will Tyson McGuffin & Riley Newman grab the top rung? Or could we see a "big name dark horse" team (is that a real thing?) like Matt Wright & Kyle Yates (who looked good together at US Open) upset both teams?
